Absolutely not, however, if you do have an existing strategy, we will work with you to identify the elements which are working well and those which need support, maintaining the parts of your go-to-market approach your customers respond well to and bring to the business new ideas to increase your success. Even if you don’t think you have a business development strategy, you probably do, you just don’t think of it as such. We will integrate with you and your teams to observe your approach and work with you to identify focus areas.
The discovery element of the PitchUp Process is based on an ‘integrate, observe and learn’ approach, to allow your team to continue with their day-to-day responsibilities when we are engaged with them. Whilst we try to minimise disruption to your team, the time you will spend with our team depends on your goals. Whether you feel your business development strategy requires a full end to end restructure, or simply a few tweaks here and there, your effort will be proportionate to the scale of the restructure. Even a minimal amount of interaction with your team can deliver dramatic results.
Our approach is to provide a long-lasting step-change to your ability to be successful. Whilst our efforts look at both increasing sales from existing customers and new customers, our focus is on implementing processes and tools to win business with new customers, which provides the best opportunity for growth. Growth percentages will very much depend on your individual business, however, with a combination of tailored targeting and process automation, we aim to deliver a 100-200% increase in fully qualified opportunities from new logo customers.
During our ‘content’ phase, we put (digital) pen to paper and create a set of marketing communications which reflect your goals. We will spend time aligning the overall vision/goals of the business to reflect your market messaging, proportionate to the targets discovered in the ‘strategy’ phase. We will introduce you to automation tools, which can support the efficient and timely delivery of content in the best format, to the right people at the most appropriate time.
Firstly, for the PitchUp Process to be successful, your sales and marketing teams are going to be an essential part of our growth journey together, we very much work with your internal teams, not against them. That said, how many times have you heard internal teams state ‘that’s not the way we do things’? It’s a very familiar statement borne from executing outdated processes which can become ingrained in businesses, the longer they exist, they can become resistant to change, to the point that they can become counterproductive. Our approach supports the responsible breaking of this cycle. Additionally, your teams are generally operating at capacity or close to it, so, to be able to take a step back and analyse where the business needs to change and make those changes can be challenging to the point that it rarely happens.
Our permanent team has collectively over 50 years of experience in growth-related roles within a wide range of businesses both large and small. Our initial focus is on working with businesses where we have significant knowledge either through working for or alongside those in specific vertical markets. In addition to our permanent team, we also work with a select number of subject matter and vertical experts to bring knowledge and experience to the team as and when required.
